New post & special post upcoming!

New post for all of you today. It's brief but it might provide a bit of insight for all of you. Read it here.

Also, keep your eyes open for October 31st! On Halloween I will be posting a very special Population: 1 post. Here's a hint: it is completely relevant to the story, but it's not exactly a written post. Oo!

I'll be posting it first thing on Wednesday morning. Keep your eyes open!

Call for snippets

There's a new post over at the in character blog. You'll also notice there's a new poll on the side, and Dahlia's inventory has been updated.

As per the poll, I would like to get a couple of people to write some snippets to be included in one of the books. They don't have to be long. All you need to do is write a snippet about a person who has been shunned. It can be insulting and mean, and it doesn't have to include the reason they were shunned or what from. Get creative and have some fun and it may be used in the story!

I'm still giving away some stickers to whomever would like one. You can post in this entry to get one.

We're getting very close to the end now. Just a few more posts and this will all be wrapped up. Are you enjoying the story?

New post.

Here is the next entry for Population: 1.

I'm pleased to say that the story is progressing nicely and we're now reaching the last few posts. I'd like to take a moment to thank anyone who's been reading. Thank you, thank you. I'd like to give you a little something, so please take a moment to leave a comment. The first person to leave a comment will get one of the giveaway stickers. Go!

I also have a new map showing where Dahlia is in the story. Some of her notes are updated in it as well. Check it out for an in-depth look into where Dahlia has been. The blue dot represents where she currently is.

There is a new poll on the side. Please vote to help Dahlia decide where she should search in the house she's currently in. As always, you can leave a comment and it may get chosen to be used somewhere in the story.

Big post today. Things are drawing to a close, though, so posts will definitely be more intensive getting closer to the end. I have a question for all of you: would any of you be interested in reading things that could have happened if different poll options had been chosen on previous polls? Or perhaps some in-depth background information that may be released after the story is over? If so, I'd love to hear your opinion! Give me a shout in the comments section, or on Twitter @KCooperWriting.

Thanks for reading!

Another new post!

It seems I'm finally on a good posting schedule. About time!

Today, there's a new post and an updated map. As always, the blue marks where Dahlia currently is in the town. The orange addition shows the route that she will be traveling next. In lieu of the orange, if you have any suggestions for stops she should make along the way, feel free to comment in the section below! The inventory section has also been updated.

A message submitted by a reader was used today, too. If you would like to leave a message for Dahlia to find, please leave a comment.

Things are certainly getting interesting. Dahlia could use more help than ever.

Next post is up!

Hey guys,

The next installment has been written and posted up. You can read it here. Someone call for a cliffhanger?

I may throw up another poll in the next couple of days or so, so please keep your eyes open for that.

As usual, feel free to strike up a conversation, or leave a message for Dahlia in the comments!

Hey guys,

At last there's a new post! Entry number five is available to be read. It's a short one but it's the beginning of  a bigger arc of the story.

Hop over to the Facebook page, where in a few days I'll be doing a giveaway for fans and fans only. Like the page and wait for details--they'll be coming soon.

The next post should be ready in a few more days as well!

Finally!

Hello!

I'm finally on a regular posting schedule once again. I'm so sorry for the delay--we were in England for two weeks and it threw me off. Things are back to normal and the story should be able to progress as usual now.

I have added a new poll on the right, and it closes very soon. Please put your vote through there as to where Dahlia should go next. I made this one close faster so I can get on the next part of the story sooner.

Here is the map once more to show Dahlia's current location. It hasn't been updated much since the last time, but she's now at the Lotus Blossom Cafe.

Some of you may notice that I used one of your messages in the story. I did alter it slightly to fit more with the themes of the story, though, which may happen with future messages as well. There's a hint in there, for those of you clever enough to find it. My only hint is that it's in the way it's worded.

A reminder that you can always leave a message for Dahlia or another character in the comments, and it may get worked into the story. Also, if you have any non-poll suggestions for something that Dahlia should do, please feel free to voice them in the comments and that may get worked in, too. Dahlia's got her hands quite full, and she could use all the help she can get.

It seems she's really starting to make some progress, but who knows what she'll find? This is only the beginning.

PayPal

Hi guys, I know I haven't gotten on schedule yet but I will very shortly. Things have been very hectic of late and focusing on writing has been difficult. If you scroll down, you'll see that I placed a Paypal Donate button. I did this in case people would like to help support my work. Any little bit helps. If you donate $10 or more, you will be added to a special newsletter that will have giveaways, information that wasn't previously revealed, and other stuff. Thank you for reading! I will get back to the story very soon!

New post soon

Just an update to let everyone reading this know that posts will resume very shortly. Many apologies for the delay and we'll be back to a semi-regular posting schedule before you know it!

Story progression

A fairly large update today. Sorry it took so long.

Here is the current map of Cullingville. The blue dot indicates where Dahlia is presently. All of the red marks indicate that Dahlia has been there, and the writing describes her own personal notes.

There's a new post today, so please check that out. It's a longish one because of how the last poll turned out.

There's also a new poll on the side, so please vote on that. If you look, you will see that Dahlia's inventory has also changed to reflect her acquisitions at the school.

I want to add that if your comment hasn't been placed in the story yet, please don't be upset or give up! I may just looking for the right place for it. That said, I can't add all comments in, because depending on their subject matter, they may just not fit.

I do encourage you to please make a comment in reply to this, though, and I will try very hard to add it to one of the upcoming entries.

Here's to the next post being done sooner!

Facebook Page!

I made a Facebook page for the story today, so feel free to (and please do) use it to spread the word! I'll put the link on the side for further use.

Don't forget to vote on the current poll. You still have several days to do so. Also please leave Dahlia a comment!

Second update

The second update of Population: 1 is now live. This finishes the very short first chapter.

To summarise, so far, Dahlia has discovered that her hometown is completely empty. She meant to pay a surprise visit to her parents but they are nowhere to be found, and neither is anyone else. She has searched her parents' house and found nothing that shows where they might be. She found the following map in their living room and is using it to look around the town for clues:

I will be updating the map here as the story progresses.

There is a new poll on the side to determine where Dahlia should go next. You have a week to vote. In the meantime, please discuss amongst yourselves and please leave a message for Dahlia. She may respond to it in some way in a future post if you do. As usual, I will post a thread in the comments section.

First update

Good afternoon! The first post for Population: 1 has finally been published on the in character blog! You may notice that you cannot comment there. That blog is used for strictly in-character interaction. Everything that you need to participate in will be visible right here, on the OOC blog.

Feel free to have discussions in the comments. There is a new poll for you on the side, and it will close on Thursday. Vote now!

To add, you may also leave messages for Dahlia in the comment section. You cannot interact with her directly, however she may find your messages in books, notes, or even answering machines throughout the story. If you have a note for Dahlia, please respond to the appropriate comment thread. I will make a thread for messages in the comments with every OOC post.

Don't forget to vote on the poll! Please note that this story doesn't go on real time, and this is purposely done. However, there may be a time that the story is in real time.
